Welcome to Sex and the State, a newsletter about power. I use evidence and stories to interrogate existing power structures to propose better ways of relating. To support my work, buy a guide, buy a subscription, or just share this post! ~~~~~ If you’d rather watch me read this:
I feel like given where you are now, and for the kind of relationship you are building with a partner- this is a wise move for you. Your OF experience taught you a lot, you gained valuable insight and a much needed financial safety net. Life is about transitions and change. Adapting to your current circumstances, and finding peace as result, demonstrates resilience and growth, in my opinion. Love you!!!

Your decision to pull back from doing porn is certainly understandable. (Even though it’s disappointing to many of us.) The demands of constantly producing new content can easily become a grind. Fans can be demanding and I think creators often set expectations for themselves that are unrealistic.
So refocusing your efforts on your writing and the newsletter seems to me to be not a retreat but a step forward in the work that you’ve set for yourself.
Also, given the hostile environment toward sex work and considering where you’re living now you’re probably reducing your own personal risk.
