One might reasonably ask where the interests of Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, Yale Law graduate J.D. Vance, and the rural incels and blue-collar divorced dads who support Trump intersect. 

The characteristic that binds these groups together is the trait that bound Anne Applebaum’s elite friends who went fascist in Poland, and differentiated them from her friends who did not. 

These are people who aren’t where they think they should be in the pecking order, and have thus concluded that it is the system that is wrong and must change. 

Peter Thiel is both the leader of the tech front for growing fascism and a case study in this personality and experience.
