While I don’t profess to be an expert on Satanism, I know a few “practicing” Satanists and I’ve read some of the more relevant texts.

The problem with most “experts” like this who talk about Satanism is they don’t seem to know very about it. For one thing, Satanists don’t worship the devil and they don’t believe in Satan. From what I can discern most are in fact atheists. (Christians are the only people who believe in an actual devil.)

They also are not particularly extreme other than being devoted to individual rights and personal responsibility.

And, there’s no evidence that Satanists have engaged in any of these bizarre crimes or abuses -- satanic or otherwise.

Now Christians on the other hand are a different story. In fact, given the widespread prevalence of Christianity in America, you could make a case that most violent criminals have had some relationship with it.

But I don’t suppose we’ll be seeing any documentaries on Christian ritual abuse and it’s relationship to serial killers.

Thanks for spelling out this idea Ive had as well — baseless conspiracies distract from the horrors happening every day with clear evidence, especially against women. And it’s an interesting case to make your point!
