You can’t say this often enough. Evangelical Christianity’s sex negative campaign to outlaw porn and all sex work is increasingly winning converts on the left and in mainstream society despite a total lack of evidence. Never underestimate the power of just making shit up.
One particularly troubling development is the way that mainstream Democrats are endorsing punishing porn for all the supposed harm it’s doing to well, everybody.
Democrats have a long history of looking for disempowered minorities who can be thrown under the bus to suck up to conservatives.
Remember back in the early 90s when Hillary Clinton warned about the rise of a generation of “super predators” (AKA young black men) who were going to slaughter (white) Americans. Of course about that time crime including murder rates fell. The generation of super predators never materialized.
