“But I think it will be fun and also I keep having thoughts about the shit I’m watching and I don’t have any other place to put those thoughts so you have to put up with them.”
That’s the spirit! #hereforallofit
Also, have you been a Games of Thrones viewer or novel reader?
I ask because I have a compulsion for list making, and I’m building a list of profanity and slang terms exclusive to the world of A Song of Ice and Fire.) The piece could benefit from an editor-style review from someone familiar with the source material.
Thanks! That's cool! I never got into GOT. I'd be happy to look it over for grammar, style, and usage but you'd probs want to pass it by someone who's watched the show and/or read the books.
I also prefer my fiction in audio format. I just finished Bram Stoker’s Dracula (audiobook). It’s a slow start, and the diary-reading style had to grow on me.
With a time machine, I would’ve read Dracula before Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (read in Summer 2022) because Frankenstein’s smaller cast of main characters were so much more complex. I loved ‘Frankenstein’ by the way. So so grim and compelling.
I’m usually reading sci-fi novels, but this year I became curious about the original novels that inspired the popular monster shows/movies/comic books.
Riddle:
Most people presume that Frankenstein is the monster, and they’re mistaken. Victor Frankenstein was the scientist and creator. However after reading the Frankenstein novel, it’s clear that Frankenstein is, in fact, the monster.
Sometime in 2021, I read Wicked by Gregory Maguire -- a origin story of The Wicked Witch of the West. Reading Frankenstein made feel about the monster the way I felt about Elphaba aka the wicked witch. Poor girl was born with a skin condition and was an animal rights activist. What is the shoes for a disabled sister and last living relative promised to give her.
I think I’m ranting. Also, I think we should’ve read Frankenstein in high school instead of Great Gadsby.
I wonder if you have thoughts about the comedy central sitcom Broad City. They were notable for having a episode about pegging. That was pretty shocking at the time because not nearly as many people discuss it like they do now.

BC is awesome. They also had an episode about tripping on mushrooms. Maybe I'll write about that next, ty!
