It's bad enough that new liberals/neoliberals and YIMBYs have to fight the "in the pocket of developers" made up nonsense. Literally promoting a rent-seeker company. What's next, reverse mortgages and a pillow sponsorship?

The size and efficacy at which these largely laissez-faire companies are able to extract so much wealth from poor folk in so many transactions and interactions is just stunning. It's also breathtakingly vile that so much of this system is just grubby and worthless dressed up as "important innovation in the blah blah space."

When I think about the immensity of the defense budget and that we could and should take half of that and spend on top notch public schools. Invest in lots of public transport that is built for the next 100 years. . Some of that available affordable housing. A scoop orvtwSingle payer medicare. Maternity leave that is better than a golden retriever's. Less than a year seems cruel.

Affordable accessible long term care or home assistance.

We's still have a big chunk left over.

I thought I lost that comment when my editing was interrupted by 1 or many raccoons trying to loot my cooler. I guess losing the bacon is a fair payment to the bandit god for retaining my rollicky comment.
