The Economist once said that the US attitudes about sex can be pinpointed down to the fact that we export porn and preachers. We're not just weird about it- we're downright fucking bizarre.
I am in love with this newsletter! I grew up small town church of Christ. Needless to say I was ingrained from an early age that basically anything and everything is a sin and I was going to hell. Especially since I was a cheerleader and dancer. So as I got into my teenage years and starting thinking for myself and forming my own opinions I realized I didn’t agree with what I was being taught. And monogamy has always been one of those I didn’t agree with. I have always felt and thought we weren’t meant to be with one person our entire lives. However because of how I was raised it was always an internal battle with how I truly felt and How I was raised to feel. I have finally come to terms with that battle and have been able to let go of what society has forced me to believe in. It’s liberating. I’m happy to see this newsletter and it’s very inspiring!
