Is it weird to devote a whole installment of the rural life objectively sucks series to driving?
I think it would be weird not to, actually. Because in the US, driving helps define ruralness. Other countries have figured out how to build walkable and bicycle-friendly countrysides linked to urban centers via mass transit. But in the US, rural means living in a single-family home with your nuclear family and being forced to drive long distances for absolutely everything — work, childcare, groceries, extended family, retail, church, etc.
And that, my friends, is not good. Not by any measure.
