As I write this, I’m on vacation with my family in Martha’s Vineyard. We’re staying at an Airbnb in the Vineyard Haven town.

Three fun facts about Martha’s Vineyard:

  • There are no traffic lights on the whole island.

  • “Martha’s Vineyard has been a summer haven for the Black community for over a century.” -Porter Braswell writing for Diversity Explained.

  • The island had a lot of congenital deafness in the early 19th century due to inbreeding. https://spotify.link/3i4ZAZwu2Cb

As we drove around the island, I marveled at how undeveloped it was.

So, like a very normal person on vacation, I looked up Martha’s Vineyard’s zoning ordinance.
