I’ve finally made it to the introduction of No Bad Parts, the Internal Family Systems Bible. It talks about how the author, a psychotherapist, wanted to help keep “the striving, materialistic, competitive parts of them” from continuing to dominate his patients’ lives. He defines the Self as “an essence of calm, clarity, compassion, and connectedness.”
He views humanity as “inherently good and interconnected.”
And then, kind of weirdly, he lays into neoliberalism:
