Two women are suing Apple for alleged gender pay discrimination.
Their lawyers claim that Apple pays women less than men for similar work and that Apple performance reviews consistently rate men higher in leadership and teamwork.
This, my babies, is as good a time as any for Mother (me) to climb back up on her (my) well-worn “abolish gender” soapbox.
I have exactly two things to say about gender pay discrimination (Editor’s note: Not guaranteed).
My first point is the more important of the two, at least in terms of explaining and potentially solving the gender wage gap.
The second point is more interesting, at least in terms of explaining why I think gender is more trouble than it’s worth.
