I just explained how belief in female idiocy intensifies the urban/rural divide.
It’s probably my best post in the last 12 months. If you haven’t read it, do that now. Read it because it’s awesome and because reading it will make this post make more sense.
To summarize, my contention was (and is) that, all else equal, dumber people are more likely to believe in female idiocy. All else equal, brain drain is higher in areas with higher levels of belief in female idiocy. Female achievement is also lower in areas with higher levels of belief in female idiocy. Brain drain and depressed female achievement helps rural areas get dumber over time. This helps boost belief in female idiocy, further brain drain and low achievement, and so the cycle goes forever and ever amen.
In my post, I assumed brain drain and depressed female achievement boost belief in female idiocy in rural areas mainly by helping these areas get dumber, on average, over time.
(If you want to know how the rest of the factors relate to each other, read the post.)
But I just thought of an additional mechanism by which female brain drain helps drive belief in female idiocy.
