As I recently shared, I’m feeling a tad discouraged of late. Don’t get excited, haters. I’m not giving up.

But I am feeling the weight of what I’m up against in terms of fixing Huntsville’s housing crisis. Pro-tip: When picking a fight, consider the “investment” part of ROI. Does fixing this problem require challenging extremely central, deeply ingrained, and widely shared ideas about how the world works? Does it threaten to slightly reduce the expected wealth gains of a huge percentage of the richest and most privileged, politically powerful, and well-represented portion of your community? Very sadly for me, these are the only fights I’m interested in. But for you, my babies, I’d recommend you pick an easier fight.
