In a recent article about why divorced men love Trump reporter Emily Shugerman spoke with Joshua Divens, a divorced law-enforcement officer from small-town Ohio.

In one sentence, Divens summarized Trump’s appeal to men like himself.

During his acrimonious divorce, Divens said his social circle spread rumors about him. This gave him empathy for Donald Trump, who faced accusations of colluding with Russia during the 2016 election and bragging on tape about sexual assault.

“Trump wasn’t saying he forcibly grabbed women’s genitals, Divens insists,” Shugerman wrote. “He was saying they let you do it.”
